Brian is a Real Estate Consultant and a Chartered Accountant (CPA, CA). Brian now helps out his family, friends and clients with homeownership and serves the Greater Vancouver area. He works with all types of clients such as first time home buyers and specializes in investment type of properties.
While as a CA, he has over a decade of experience delivering on various audits and risk advisory engagements with both public and private organizations. He was also a Product Manager at a local software company and ran his own consulting business prior to converting his side hustle and real estate passion of 16 years into work. He has personally lived and breathed how a person buys and sells a home more than the average person does in a lifetime. Brian is a resident, owner, and investor.
Brian is married happily to his wife Katharine and has a daughter.
Brian’s Story
…..when I was four years old, my hardworking and loving parents lost their primary residence to an unforeseen event… This event changed my life and my future.
The turning point happened shortly after graduating from SFU, where I had to make a decision: pay off a portion of my student loan or invest? Since a young age, I’ve been a huge advocate of paying yourself first, save (save more), build up that nest egg and to be financially free. I managed to change my future and turn an unfortunate situation into net positive and now, I’m here to help. I love this city and I believe in home ownership access and enjoyment. More about Brian and his humble beginnings….
I was born and raised in the west side of Vancouver before moving to the suburbs of Burnaby. As a true Vancouverite, I’ve had the pleasure to experience many neighbourhoods in Vancouver and the surrounding areas.
How did I get here? I attended Simon Fraser University studying business administration. I’m also a designated Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) trained through big four public accounting firms, have over a decade of experience delivering services, and worked in both Hong Kong and San Francisco. During this journey, I experienced a few aha! moments along the way. “You constantly search for emotional joys in life that gives you that ‘high’ feeling. My so-called ‘high’ comes from viewing properties, visiting presentation centers, attending open houses, or advising close family friends on their real estate transactions.” I really enjoy it.
Prior to becoming a real estate professional, I was a BIG real estate nerd who surfed MLS listings in my spare time. As well, I love to strategize & negotiate deals whether it was for an investment property, buying our first home together with my wife, or helping others. My passion for real estate comes with local roots that will provide you with this advantage, whether it’s finding that ‘cozy’ dream home on the drive, another investment property, or downsizing into a new quieter area.
I have personally lived, breathed, and tasted the buying and selling experience more than the average person. My personal experience includes being a landlord for over a decade, an active member of many strata councils, and an owner/investor for over sixteen years.
